History:
Vanille was born into a loving family, back home in her village of Oerba on Gran Pulse. Back then, nothing was complicated. She was just a young girl who spent her days skipping around the village and playing with her friends. She loved exploring and gave her parents endless worry as she wandering off without telling them. Those blissful memories are forever etched in her memory, despite it being such a long time ago.
She was too young to understand what was truthfully going on, as the war of transgression broke out between Cocoon and Pulse. She was just a child, barely fourteen years old when things went horribly wrong. Soon, her once peaceful village was overrun by intruders. She could only watch as her loving parents lost their lives to Cocoon’s l’Cie and fal’Cie. It had a devastating impact on the young girl, who was left incredibly distraught. With her whole family gone, she didn’t know who to turn to. She was all alone, sent to Oerba’s orphanage.
Unsurprisingly, she wasn’t the only one affected by this war, as she came across anyone girl who had been through the same thing. She was slightly older than herself and from her first impression rather confident. Over time, Vanille grew to know Fang, as she was taken under wing. Fang was like the big sister she never had and quickly became her best friend. It was what she didn’t through this tough time, someone to talk to and look after her. Things were beginning to look up even during these times of hardship.
But that was until Vanille learned of what Fang had wanted to do. Once she learned that Fang had wanted to become an l’Cie to so that she could protect Gran Pulse, she was utterly shocked. She couldn’t understand why Fang wanted to do such a thing, as there was a grim future for those who became l’Cie. But Vanille couldn’t just stand there and do nothing. She couldn’t stand the gnawing fear of being alone, she had to follow her. Also, her friend could be in trouble, so she had to help somehow. She ran on ahead and it was there she found Fang, and the fal’Cie Anima.
Soon enough, they were turned into l’Cie, given the power of Ragnook and were told to destroy Cocoon. This being their focus, they had to complete it or risk becoming Cie'th. Now, she really was frightened. Vanille didn’t know what to do, for she was far too scared to use the power that she was given. Instead, Fang turned into the beast to help complete their focus, but her form was not quite complete enough to completely destroy Cocoon. But, feeling sorry for the people of Cocoon the Goddess decided to stop the war and crystallize both Fang and Vanille. The years passed quickly, as the centuries went by.
Exactly five hundred years later, Vanille and her friend awakened from their crystal status on Cocoon. They found themselves in the Pulse Vestige now acquired by Cocoon. They were left confused as they wandered around Cocoon, Fang searching endlessly for any clues on their focus which she had forgotten all about. Vanille didn’t want to hurt anyone and pretended she didn’t recall what their focus was. Fang was desperate to complete the focus, as she feared Vanille would become a cie'th. After being chased by PSICOM soldiers, her friend to take them on her own, hoping to find Vanille soon as she had taken care of them. Vanille was forced to flee, and was alone yet again, as she found herself on Bodhum during the fireworks display.
She did manage to hide for a while until she caught up in the purge with some other civilians. It was there she met Hope, Snow, Sazh and Lightning. They were turned into l'Cie and sent out on a journey to find their focus before it was too late. Along the treacherous journey, she was reunited with her old friend Fang although Fang couldn't remember her focus at all. Vanille lied to Fang that she couldn't remember, but was quickly forgiven when the truth came spilling out. In the end, the six ended up at Pulse, ready to fight their enemy, the fal’Cie Orphan. In the end, Vanille couldn’t stay back and watch her friend get hurt. She knew what they had to do, become Ragnarok. Although she was afraid, it was something that had to fulfil, their focus from over five hundred years ago.

RP Sample:
An echo of footsteps trailed around the area, as the girl wandered down the path, her emerald eyes searching around. There was nothing more exciting than a new place to explore, especially one she had yet to come across. The jungle was certainly exotic, with all its plants and weird little creatures running around. Nothing like being back on Gran Pulse, but its surrounding habitat did reminder her of the wilderness of her home. She couldn’t say she was scared, infact she was enjoying this, walking around a new place, taking in new sights. Of course she did feel homesick from time to time, but she had to get used to it. Thinking of the happier times did help in that manner, as it gave her the confidence she needed to make new friends while thinking of those she fondly remembered as well.
Vanille no longer tried letting those thoughts of insecurity enter her mind, as she did her best to do everything with a smile. She knew that she had done things wrong in the past, and was trying so hard to make up for it. Right now, her mind was elsewhere as she having some fun skipping up the long path. Now this was what she called entertainment, better than being stuck in a classroom all day long. This girl had to get out and just be herself, wandering around on this island, keeping as optimistic as could. Running away was not option, as it was near impossible unfortunately.
Keeping herself occupied, she bounded past all the obstacles in her path, from large trees to weird looking plants. She smiled as she took a deep breath in, the air dense with moisture, the scent of nature at its finest. She happily sighed as she skipped on ahead, obliviously to where she was going. She skipped all the way up the path, up a large mountain. It looked pretty intimidating at first but it wasn’t something she could be scared off. After all, there had been instances where she had faced scarier looking things. It had taken a lot of courage, but in time, she learnt not to be so afraid and run away. She smiled, the clear memory of her closest friend springing to mind. It was strange being away from her again, although it was almost like Vanille couldn’t help but go off in her own directions. But there was no denying that she still held onto the hope she would see her again, as it had happened before. Her light smile didn’t fade from her lips as Vanille collapsed on the ground with a gentle thud.
She had been walking all day, thus exhausting herself even further. Her legs stretched out before her as she tilted her head back, resting for a bit. ”Fang...” she whispered quietly, her eyes closing as she could almost hear her friend’s voice again. But then, she froze, as she realized that someone was heading this way and those words seemed too real to be true.”Fang!” she said more prominently this time, springing herself upwards. It was hard to comprehend but there was no mistaking it, that was her voice. She bounded towards the familiar accent and was shocked to see her there in the flesh. Vanille had to blink a few times to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. ”Fang! It’s you, it’s really you!” she exclaimed, rushing to greet her friend, wrap her arms around her in a tight hug.
