Name:Genesis Rhapsodos
Age: 25
Which game are you from: Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core/Dirge of Cerberus
Weapons/Abilities:
Rapier/Swordsman: A massively large rapier that more resembles a broadsword then its namesake. Genesis favorite weapon, it is one he holds extreme skill with, likely being a swordsman on par with sephiroth. Interesting to note that Genesis appears to be able to infuse the rapier with magic to increase its power. (note: An example image of the rapier can be found on this link: finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/File:CC_Genesis_Sword_Artwork.jpg
Left wing of Jenova/one winged angel: Like Sephiroth, Genesis was born with the ability to summon a single, black angel wing into existence. This wing grants Genesis the ability of flight, an increase his overall abilities and the feathers can be used as a sort of "projectile" weapon.
However, nothing good comes without a curse: Genesis, when seen with the wing, is often seen as being a monster to most people (as they associate him, perhaps somewhat accurately, with being a child of Jenova). This means that Genesis has difficulty revealing or using the wing around those who he fears would see him as an enemy.
Red Knight: Genesis overall magic abilities seem to be similar to that of a red mage: He possess a wide variety of white and black magic, and several unique red magic spells, but not the most powerful magic of all the categories. Genesis unique spell, "Apocalypse", is a powerful non-elemental black magic attack that he discovered during his final fateful encounter with Zack Fair.
Crimson Cross: A special sword technique developed by Genesis after awakening from beneith the ruins of midgar. Similar to the skill "cross slash" used by cloud strife, it is a multi-hitting slash technique.
Eidolons/ Summons: None

History: A repentant and reclusive former SOLDIER of the Shin-ra special forces, Genesis Rhapsodos has a history that is almost as complex as he is. Born into a wealthy family in the town known as "Banora", Genesis grew up in a life mostly of prestige and wealth until the time he joined SOLDIER alongside Angeal Hughley, A friend he grew up with.
Angel, Genesis and Sephiroth would later become the three most famous soldiers to exist, and also friends. Sephiroth even was declared to be the man responsible for winning the wutai war. However, Genesis Rhapsodos and his comrades had a secret. One that, once revealed, would forever change their lives.
They were all results of experiments utilizing what was later discovered to be Jenova cells. This, along with numerous other tragic realizations, eventually caused all three to believe that they were "monsters". and led to the mass defection of SOLDIERs led by Genesis that would later be known as "The Genesis War".
Using an army of cloned soldiers created at the cost of his own life (through the degredation of his genetic code) Genesis set out to do what he believed the purpose of he, a "Monster" was supposed to do: Conquer the world. Through a difficult, several year war, the forces of Genesis were routed and, eventually, Genesis was defeated by the 1st class soldier, Zack Fair. However, rather then die at the hands of Zack, Genesis was spared from death, and his genetic degredation permanently stopped by a being currently known as "The Goddess".
After this incident, Genesis's unconcious body was recovered by "Deepground", a mysterious SOLDIER army located underground Midgar. Upon awakening, Genesis was confronted by a man known as Weiss, who wished for Genesis to help him overthrow the controllers of Deepground (known as the Restrictors) so that Deepground could be released from what they considered their underground prison.
Genesis refused, beleving that he was not meant for such actions. Rather, as a way to pay back the goddess that saved him , Genesis sealed himself away in the depths of Deepground until the day would come that "A Hero would be needed to save the world." With his friends Angeal and Sephiroth apparently dead, Genesis believed that he was the only one left who could fill this role.
So, Genesis sealed himself under deepground and waited. It was not until the end of the Omega incident that Genesis would be awakened, and perhaps even that was by accident.
Since the awakening, Genesis has been traveling, much like a wanderer, fulfilling the role that he beleives he was destined to do: protect the world. As he has come to realize the magnitude of his quest, Genesis has even begun to travel between worlds in pursuit of this goal. Yet ultimately, Genesis also seeks answers as he travels: why was he spared by the goddess and Zack? Is he still doomed to be seen as a monster, or can he redeem himself through heroic actions?

A gentle nightly rain poured over the plains of midgar, blanketing the shallow hills with their life-giving dew, granting the few patches of grass that did exist respite from the harsh heat and sun. In the distance, the massive ruins of midgar stood tall in the sky, a few lights illuminating the ruins of the once great city.
As his footsteps sank into the mud slightly, Genesis hoped he was going the right way. Slogging up hill after hill in the plains the former 1st class soldier had been looking all day for what he sought, with little avail. One might have wondered what a man like him was doing, wandering about the plains around midgar. Yet Genesis did not treat this like a simple walk. This was a pilgrimage to him. A journey to the resting place of a once great Hero who gave his life for his friends. A man who, despite facing impossible odds, fought on and met a heroic death against the greatest army ever seen.
Genesis sought the grave of Zack Fair, marked by the sword of both Zack's mentor and his friend, Angeal. He would find it, no matter how long it took.
Rhapsodos effort was finally rewarded when he spotted it no more then 20 yards away, obscured by the misty rain. Quickening his pace, Genesis moved to the sword, embedded deep in the ground. Despite the obvious signs of damage by the elements, the buster sword stood high, and was definitely still in usable condition. Genesis, however, had no intention of taking it. To him, the sword was more then just a blade. It was a monument to Heroes passed. A treasure passed down from master to pupil, used for protecting the world from evil.
A monster like himself had no right to taint such an object with his touch.
The sword, however, was only part of the reason why he was here. The more important reason and purpose was the man who was buried underneath it. Genesis needed to say something to him. Something he never got the chance to tell Zack while he was still alive. Rhapsodos knelt in front of the blade, akin to how one would kneel before a king, and spoke:
"My soul, corrupted by vengeance, hath endured torment to find the end of the journey, in my own salvation and your eternal slumber."
Genesis spoke it like one would speak a prayer to the goddess, then paused. Letting a deep breath escape, he continued.
"I once really beleived that, Zack. I once really believed that If I just came here and apologized, everything would be set right. That I would be exonerated from my sins. Now I know better. Now, knowing that I am what I am, A monster. Since you have passed on, however, all I can do is apologize for what I caused. Because of me, you and your friend became experiments to a madman. Because of me, The greatest soldier to ever live became the greatest monster. Because of me, you aren't here to live out your life. Because of me..."
Genesis hand tensed into a tight fist, the leather gloves he wore letting out a slight squeak as they were squeezed in his hands.
"...All of this happened because of me."
Another pause, this one much longer as Genesis inhaled deeply and let out a sigh. His sigh, however, was shaky. Genesis emotions, for the first time in a long time, were getting the better of him.
"I'm sorry."
Standing up and gazing at the sword, Genesis broke his own promise not to touch it and let his hand grip the buster sword's hilt tightly. The rain weakening slightly, almost like a sign from the goddess, Genesis gazed at his hand gripping the sword as he spoke.
"Apologizing won't solve this, however. waiting for my life to expire will not change anything, either. I made all this happen. I may not be able to change the past, but I will ensure a better future. Even if it means that I am the one that must suffer and die for it."
Gently letting go of the buster sword's handle, Genesis turned away, and, with a seemingly depressed and saddened gait, walked into the rainy haze of the night. Genesis would set things right.
Even if it killed him.
