The icy winds of Mt. Gagazet howled as Auron trekked alone up the snowy slopes, body bent against the forces of nature. His red warrior's robe ruffled continuously as the breeze tugged at it, and the guardian did his best to ignore the biting cold that seemed to pierce like blades into every bone of his body. One of the downsides to being an Unsent. You were still somewhat part of the world; he would never have to eat, but he could still feel the chill as fiercely as when he had been alive. Masamune, sheathed on his back, conducted the cold, adding to his discomfort. Behind him loomed Zanarkand, the once grand city now reduced to a heap of crumbling ruins.
Braska would have said this is good for character, Auron thought, a half smile tugging at his mouth as he thought of the high summoner. He hoped that Braska was resting in peace within the Farplane. If anyone deserved it, he did. For a moment, he pondered whether or not he had seen the man within the ephemeral realm. If he had, he had no recollection of it. Auron couldn't remember being inside the Farplane; there was a blank in his mind that seemed...empty, so he knew that he had been sent somewhere after slaying Yu Yevon, but he couldn't call up any images to confirm this.
Before he could go about answering his many questions, however, he had to get into Spira proper, and that meant scaling the holy mountain. But if he had managed it ten years ago, broken and bleeding as he fled Zanarkand, he should be able to easily pull it off now.
Not that it would be easy, he knew. Howling in the distance caught his attention, followed by a steady sequence of answering calls, until the whole mountain seemed alive with wolf-song. So. The fiends were just as persistent as he remembered. That much, at least, was the same. It wouldn't be long before they found him.
"Let them come," Auron said, gripping his katana with a single hand as he continued on. "I'll cut them all down!"

Roxas
He was climbing a really weird mountain, still new to the place, was off exploring. He had his winter coat with him, to protect him with the frost, in the distance he heard the howls of wolves. Then he heard another man's voice, 'I'll cut them down.' that got Roxas worried, he loved wolves and didn't want them hurt. "HEY! Wait up!!" He yelled out, hoping he could be heard over the wind, and soon he caught up, and he faced the guy, not going anywhere anytime soon. "No one, "He put emphasis on the no one, "is going to injure any wolves here." His face red from anger, and chilliness, and he'd die protecting innocent wolves. He was ready to get his key blades out to battle this guy if he had to, his hands already positions for key blades to appear. The thing is was that he didn't realise he had stepped too close to the guy, and he had a sword in his hands. Roxas said, "Get through me first.", eyes in little slits, wind blowing his hair into his face, the howls were getting louder.
A few wolves can be seen in the distance, but he wasn't ready quite yet, so he got out his two key blades, not even having to move his arms, and he got in battle position, wondering what the crap he was doing! He didn't know how to fight, but he guessed he'll have to do a quick lesson.
[[ Sorry having a bad day/night right now]]

They were coming; Auron could see the wolf packs in the distance, rushing through the snow as they navigated the treacherous mountain with ease. This was their territory; Gagazet's wolves were known as being some of the fiercest in Spira. He knew firsthand how it felt to have their teeth sink into your flesh, from his first trip through the mountain with Jecht and Braska. It would be an interesting battle, on his own. Masamune held steady in his hand as he waited.
But the sound of panting nearby caused Auron to look to the side, and the warrior stared as he saw a boy rush his way up towards him from amidst a haze of snow. What a curious sight. How had someone so young managed to survive the trials of Gagazet? He didn't look much younger than Tidus or Yuna, but alone? And he certainly didn't have the build of a warrior. The child must have possessed the devil's own luck to have gotten this far unscathed. But more curious was how the boy positioned himself; he placed himself in front of him, in a stance that very much suggested as though he intended to fight.
"Get through me first," the boy said. Auron raised an eyebrow at him.
"This isn't a petting zoo, boy. These wolves will rip you apart. They're the enemy, not me. Now, stand aside." Shifting to hold the katana with both hands. He took several steps forward, eyes fixed on the rushing wolves. "Here they come. Pay attention, and maybe you'll get out alive."
In an instant, they were there, leaping up out of the snow. Auron turned his katana, using the massive dull side to block, and the wolf slammed against the heavy slab of steel. He stebbed back to give himself room, and the weapon flashed down in a powerful stroke, cleaving the fiend in two. It dissolved into a cloud of pyreflies that slowly floated away.
"Fight!" he commanded.

Roxas
'I don't have to listen, especially someone like you.' He thought nastily in his head, but then he said here they come, and Roxas turned around. He only caught a glimpse of a white teeth, before he brought up his key blades, and both of them were knocked down. He saw a flurry of white, and landed on his back, wolves coming for him, Roxas jumped up back on his feet. He saw a wolf lunge for the guy with the blade, he blocked it, and while the wolf was lying on his side, he cut it in half. Roxas felt sick, he went pale, and he tried touching it, but couldn't because it turned into a cloud of something, and floated away. He jumped back, and then continued with the wolves, his entire body went numb, being told to fight. When he's told to do something, he disobeys, but, not in this case. Roxas didn't want to injur any wolves, he loved them, but maybe that guy was startin to be right. "I know this ain't no pettin zoo." He said, having a weird accent, but hey, coming from a small island can do that to you.
Roxas was only blocking the wolves, he didn't really plan on cutting any of them in half, Roxas shuddered, but continued fighting. His hands were numb, he couldn't tell if he was carrying the key blades. Checking often wsa something easy to do, but looking at your hands in battle isn't the best idea, especially up against wolves. A wolf lunged at Roxas, he didn't even see the wolf, and it knocked him down. The wolf was trying to bite his neck, but couldn't get through the key blades, Roxas could feel it's claws, cut him through his coat, 'Sharp claws'. He mustered as much strength as he could, and knocked the wolves over, and Roxas jumped up, wincing a little where the claws got him. So far, he hasn't killed any wolves, which is probably what the other guy was doing, but he dare not look. He didn't want to see another cloud of things at all.

Auron could tell that the lad was having trouble, but he concentrated on his own foes, slashing away at the snapping fiends, the wolves nimbly dodging his heavy strokes. A wolf was on top of the boy now, barely held off by those two curious weapons he carried. What were they? Shaped like keys...he had never seen anything like it. Not that it mattered. Anything could be turned into a weapon, so long as you knew how to use it. Lulu's animated dolls were the perfect example, he thought, with a wry grin.
He was the kind of person that made others rely on their own strength; if they had someone always saving them, they could hardly improve, now could they? The boy had the right instincts, he just had to put them to use. "Trust yourself." he told him, even as as wolf lunged at him. Auron calmly sidestepped, and swung his katana, the massive blade easily slicing through the fur and flesh. "Focus, and you can win." A wolf nipped at his heels, and the guardian batted it away with the sword's dull side. More were approaching; he could see several packs dashing through the snow, and their howling was certain to attract more. Soon, the whole mountain would be coming after them... Auron just held his katana tight and planted his feet. Compared to Sin, this was nothing. Besides, the fighting was warming his body up. Nothing like a little exercise to shake off the chill of old bones.
"Away!" he growled at the beasts as they surrounded him. As one, they charged, and Masamune flashed through the frozen air, slashing away, left, right, and center. Pyreflies seemed to surround him as they all vanished. He didn't come out unscathed; his leg had been bitten, the flowing blood blending into his hadori. Nothing but a flesh wound. He had had worse. Much, much worse. Enough to kill him.

Roxas
He tried fighting them off without killing any wolves, 'trust yourself, focus and you can win' He concentrated, he closed his eyes, 'Focus, focus, focus' He repeated in his head, and started to slash the wolves, beginning to actually kill them. He went pale again, but not the wolves were dying, but the fact he was their killer. He swung them around, and let go of them, flying around, and making them slash the wolves, and they came back like frisbies. Swarms of bugs surrounded him and bit his arms, he could feel some blood, but he couldn't deal with it during a battle. He just had to look at it as he swung his arms around, "I'm trying." He called out, not seeing any other human around him, with the swarms of bugs, and wolves, he didn't know if he was dead or alive, but soon, they were going to have to climb something.
He cleared out his side of wovles and bugs, and saw something tall standing, and he yelled out, "We'll have to climb something!" Looking around for the easiest spot up, and reached up his arms and jumped. Too short. "Aw come on already!!" He yelled out of anger, then backed up a little, and jumped and gribbed the side, legs kicking at the wolves below, and he pulled himself up. He kept climbing higher and higher up, until he reached the top, sitting on a metal branch type, and began to inspect his arms. They were all bloody from bites from those bugs, and then he thought of the claws on his chest stomach area. It still stung a little, and he lifted his shirt just a tad, and could see the blood dripping down his stomach, and he put his shirt back down, pressing against it to stop the bleeding, and began to wonder why are wolves made out of biting bugs here?

Auron scowled, trying not to put as much weight on his wounded leg, and backed away from the wolves, searching for a way through them. Tactics. He had learned how to fight from the best; the warrior monks of Bevelle were unmatched in the field of combat. "You are nothing!" he growled at the wolves. He stabbed with the massive blade, practically shoving it down the throat of a wolf that rushed him. Wolves were natural hunters, intelligent and able to work together. Fiend wolves were even worse, as 'twas evident by the way they were circling, surrounding them while others wore them down. He could see the raging in their eyes; the torment of souls that had not been sent when their spirit left the physical body.
The young boy had begun fighting, quite well considering his youth, but he could only hold out for so long, and eventually he retreated, snagging the edge of a rut sticking out of the rocky mountainside and climbing up. Auron glanced at him, looking exasperated. "Hardly the wisest strategy..." he said. Did the boy expect to just sit there all day, out in the freezing cold? The wolves were used to this environment. They weren't. "We'll run. Wait there, while I force them back. Then drop, and move." The guardian turned to the canines that waited around him, their jaws slobbering. The dull sun seemed to glint off their fangs.
"Well then," he said, gripping Masamune with both hands. "Shall we begin?" The congregation of wolves seemed to get the message. As one, they lifted up their heads and began howling.
Auron charged, katana swinging, the wolves dodging and sliding their way around the blade's edge. Slowly, they began to move away from the cliff, clearing the spot. Auron uttered a single, commanding word: "Now!"

Roxas
He realise climbing wasn't one of the world's greatest ideas, but he stayed up there. He nealry fell down the tree when he saw how bad wounded the guy's legs were, but the guy told him "the plan" and he was going to do as he told, and then he yelled out , 'Now!' and Roxas jumped down about 7 feet. Wincing when he landing, he began running towards higher up, forgetting about everything, then it hit him. The guy had a bad leg! Roxas just couldn't leave him behind for dead, it just wasn't right. He turned around, hands on the top of his head, looking as if he was digging if he should follow the plan, or disobey. He knew he could screw the entire thing up, and possibly be killed, and he knew what he had to do. Risk everything.
He ran up beside him, and got out his keyblades, and began to slash at the wolves, focusing on the wolves, ignoring everything else. He didn't hear anything but the sound of battle, and the yips of wolves. His heart pounded in his chest, he couldn't fight, but he was learning as best as he could. Just like what people say, no time like the present. "Change of plan, you go first because of your leg, and I hold him off!" He yelled out, it was a demand he go, and Roxas fend the wolves off. The normal Roxas would have ran, but this time, he had enough, and fought back with whatever anger he kept inside. He glanced around the packs of wolves, their numbers were growing smaller, "Perfect timing." He said smirking at the wolves, he at least battled for about an hour or so, and he was getting to be really tired, and wolves were too. Roxas breathing turning heavy, and he wolves, finally high tailed it out of there, and Roxas turned his head aorund looking to see if he got away.

When Auron glanced over his shoulder, he saw to his exasperation that the kid had decided to finally grow some guts and really fight. He wouldn't have minded earlier, when it would have been useful, but now that it was clear they couldn't stand on their own against the fiends, he really would have preferred the lad to have followed his instructions. Well, the young always did seem to be causing problems...Auron had been forced to get Tidus out of trouble plenty of times before. He was accustomed to this sort of thing. Irritating, it was, but unsurprising.
What was surprising was what the boy told him. Auron gave him a stolid look from behind his glasses. He wanted him to run? "You should worry about yourself," Auron said, his voice deep and wry. "This injury is nothing." Or, at least, it was nothing. He had been intending to run, after all. But now that he was going to be forced to fight on it... Auron heaved his katana up onto his shoulder, and glanced at the pack of fiends. "Do as I say next time. The battlefield isn't a place for stubborness." Moving forward with the teenager, he hacked away with Masamune. His arms reverberated with each successful stroke, and his leg twinged every time he put weight on it. He let his hadori fall to the ground to free his movement, and cleaved a way through the beasts, the legendary warrior finally starting to breath heavily.
They seemed to fight forever, but at least the wolves seemed to decide that they had taken sufficient losses, and hastily fled, easily disappearing into the snow with their white fur. The only thing that suggested that the area had been a battlefield was a single quickly fading pyrefly. Auron scanned the distance, stonily silent as he pondered this turn of luck.
"We don't have much time," he said, turning, and picked up his robe. He donned it as he began walking down the slope, his pace only slightly strained from his injured limb. "They will return. Move." He continued on in silence. Silence suited this mountain.

Roxas had thought he had helped but it seemed he made the guy mad. He began thinking about his stubborness like he had said, and walked after him. He had intented to say something but what and then it struck him. " I thought we were heading up the mountain." He said quietly, he wasn't sure if he had heard Roxas bu he didn't mind. It was just ignoring Roxas that would tick him off. He looked around, everything was snowy and white. Not very warm at all now was it? {{sorry it so short. Muse is low and I got off of groundation >D I am back!}}
