Seifer had left his life behind him. His ways renounced, his thoughts a new, or so he tried to make himself believe. He thought he could live without Raijin and Fujin, after that time they and him went fishing, he thought he could leave it at that, but even now it plagues him. Standing in these 'Calm Lands' or so he'd been told they were called that, reminded him just how much he missed his home. There was no turning back however. Galbadian remnants wanted his head, fearing that the Sorceress would return and take their heads should they fail to keep following her. Squall and his friends returned to their lives, training the hopeful SeeD's of tomorrow.
Seifer however, had lost everything. The Sorceress was now gone. He was no longer important to Rinoa, and he had left his friends behind. What kind of person was he? He spent every breathing moment resenting everything that had happened. Who had caused this pain upon him? It was Squall Leonheart, his natural born rival, someone he knew from childhood.
Life works in strange ways, or so it would seem. Seifer lay their in the grass, taking in breaths, deep and long. Then exhaling them slowly, catching every ounce of energy from them that he could. He sighed slightly, then yelled, his voice seemingly echoing through the Calm Lands. "What about my dream?!"
You'd had to have been deaf not to hear him anywhere through the Calm Lands, yet people seemed to continue on, like it were a natural occurrence. This place was so different from everywhere and anywhere he had ever been.

As it turns out there were people on the Calm Lands. They were just over the hill from where she had run into Cloud. It was odd how that worked out, but nevertheless, she was glad that she wasn't alone on this large expanse of grass, pointy rocks, and crazy looking monsters. She could handle the monsters, and even the odd pointy rocks, but being alone wasn't something Penelo did well. She couldn't remember a time where she was 'alone', except for that time Ba'Gamnan kidnapped her because he thought she was important to Balthier, whom at the time she had never met.
It was good, though, that Vaan talked him into going to rescue her, or she'd have been Bangaa food. They they saved her, and she wasn't alone anymore. Back to the point, Penelo didn't like being alone. She went from person to person, trying to be friendly, but the girl was so obviously a foreign with her hair, her accent was different, her clothes were completely different than these...farm-type. Her red shorts and lace up shirt was obviously a dancer's outfit, but no one here seemed to get that. Even though she wasn't offended by that, she wished someone would at least stop to talk to her for any length of time that wasn't two seconds. Maybe she thought she was trying to sell something?
She wasn't really sure, but her experience in Rabanastre told her that when you approach someone you gotta tell them exactly why you are talking to them after you say 'hello,' or they will just keep walking. She had just spun a full three-sixty turn, wishing she'd see a kind face amount the people running from venue to venue to the encampment. She noticed a man who was laying in the grass just a little ways away from everyone else and shout about his dream. She could tell, just from what he wore and from everyone else that he wasn't from here. Immediately she started walking over to him them. Maybe the two of them could help each other out?
She sat down next to him, and looked at the people that passed them by without glancing. "It makes you wonder that if they needed help, would they expect us to help them?" Penelo asked, her cheerful voice turned only a shade sour. She didn't like it when other people were rude for no other reason than they didn't want to be nice. Penelo was one to drop what she was doing if someone asked her for help. It was hard for her to believe other people wouldn't do that.

He must have layed their for several minutes, quietly breathing, eyes closed, reflecting on the events that had passed. It felt like only yesterday, he reversed Zantetsuken and sliced Odin in half. It felt like only yesterday that Gilgamesh struck him down with those swords of his. It felt like only yesterday the Sorceress welcome him with open arms. Maybe it was only yesterday, or to this world anyway. They all reminded him of those strange people in Timber, only, stranger.
He heard the soft crunch of grass, only metres from his head, which caused him to look over slowly. It seemed he wasn't the only one not from here. This girl she resembled some of the 'Dancers' he had seen in Deling City, when he was on the float with the Sorceress, when that damned Irvine tried to shoot the Sorceress in the head. No such luck for him.
He sat himself up, and felt around for Hyperion, it had been somewhere under his coat while he layed their. He nodded slightly to the girl, as his gloved hand brushed along the blade before settling upon the handle. He gripped it tightly and pointed the blade towards the sun. It gleamed in the sunlight, sending a screen if light from the edge towards the grass. Guess he should indulge her. Even if she probably would end up getting him angry.
"People shouldn't have to ask for help, people should notice when you need help. That's what she did for me...." There was two people he was referring to, and for two different reasons. Rinoa, his first love, he met exactly a year before the events with the Sorceress, and of course the Sorceress herself. She realised his romantic dream and helped him achieve, if only for a little while.

Penelo let her fingers curl in the grass beside her. The Calm Lands was actually peaceful, this side of the rocks. The side from Mt. Gagazet was dangerous, and fully of creepy animals and giant bugs. One tried to sting her! But it reminded her of Lemures, the floating continent high above Ivalice where her and her friends were taken there by an ancient ship. They tried to help the native race there, but at one point the people tried to hurt them. It was things like that that Penelo didn't understand. How could someone just be so mean?
Everywhere she went, there were always people that were rude to them, or just didn't help them because they wanted something out of it. Penelo was never a person to as for reimbursment. She always helped without a second thought. A kid had a skinned knee, she healed it immediately. An orphan was hungry, Penelo shared whatever food she had. Vaan wanted to go on some stupid mission, Penelo went without asking. She wasn't 'spineless' or a doormat, but whenever someone needs help, Penelo just can't not help them. It was hard for her to believe other people wouldn't do that. She couldn't figure out why not, either.
She turned her head over to the man as he answered her, and she agreed with him. People shouldn't have to ask for help. It should be there. "I guess people just aren't that selfless here. It's a shame. I'm am pretty lost." She said it like a sigh, like an 'oh well.' Penelo was an optimistic thing, and was pretty sure everything would work out in due time. She just wished someone would stop for a moment and show just a shred of kindness. Her eyes glanced over to the man again, and wondered who the 'she' was that he spoke of. She could tell he cared about her, a lot, and she hoped that he got back to her.

Seifer seemed lost in his thoughts. If this was any other day he would have gladly made fun of this strangely dressed girl, made her upset and continued on his ways. Maybe it was because he was trying to go a new path. Nah, that couldn't be it, he was just far too deep in his own thoughts to realise what he was doing, but still....
His gaze went back over to the girl, examining her slightly. In fact she wasn't that bad looking. Maybe he needed to give everyone a second glance. Maybe then he'd have more friends, or possibly be less of an outcast. Yet life continued on, you can't change what you look like, but you can change your personality, should you have the time. Time was something that Seifer had a lot of now.
He nodded slightly, in fact he too was lost. It didn't worry him however, he had nowhere to go, so being lost was really a worry. He sighed slightly, stretching. Maybe Carbuncle would be a good companion, if not for a little while. It had never crossed his mind, to call Carbuncle. He'd always seen it as a useless Guardian Force, but perhaps it wasn't so useless after all. "I'd say I'm lost, but can you be lost if you've got nowhere to go?"
