The Flurry had heard rumors of a desert which supposedly had many treasures in it, and was interested. His munny wasn't accepted in Spira, and he needed some Gil. So what better way to get it than finding treasure?
"Well, this isn't what I expected..." he said, frowning. He had walked quite a ways, and had seen nothing but sand. Oh, and the occasional sand tornade, which technically was still sand. The red-headed Nobody kicked his boot in the sand, making a plume that floated away on the breeze. But another problem arose, one more important than the sandstorms. In his hurry, the Flurry had forgotten to bring water. And he was getting thirsty. Really thirsty. Not that he needed it (being a Nobody and all) but he was so used to drinking that he felt he needed it.
As he looked around in the sand for a sign of civilazation, he spotted something that looked as if it was running off. He said, "Hey!" and ran after it, his Chakrams appearing in twin wheels of flame. He had almost caught up to it when he was tripped by some sort of tripwire. He fell face-first into the sand, and lifted his head, shaking the sand off. And then he realized that he was surrounded by a group of...
"Are those...cacti?" said Axel, puzzled. Well, it wasn't any cacti he had seen. Especially when they started moving in. He rose his Chakrams, ready to fight, but knew that he was massively outnumbered. Instead, he shot a fireball in the air, where it exploded like a firework. He hoped that someone would see it and help him...

This desert had always been something more to Rikku. A place that she would always hold close to her heart. The Bikanel Desert was the roots of her people after all. She couldn't help but feel a little attached to it, as an Al Bhed. It also helped that there was some GREAT treasure. Yes, even this place was the roots of her people, Rikku couldn't help but want treasure still. She just adored treasure, and stealing it for that matter. Which is part of the reason why she was here today. To look for some more treasure. Things had been sort of boring, and she really could not take any more of Brother's stupidity. She couldn't find her cousin Yunie or Paine either. She just hoped that both of them were okay. She knew how tough both of them were, especially Paine, so she wasn't too worried. But she still couldn't help but have a bit of concern for them. They were her best friends and she loved them dearly.
Rikku walked through the desert, not suffering from it's harsh sun or it's landscape. She was used to the desert, so it was like nothing to her. But she was prepared in case any fiends tried to attack. She was in her thief Dressphere, the one she worked best in, so she was equipped with her Twin Daggers as well. She wasn't worried about coming here alone though. She knew how to handle herself in this desert! Those Cactuar didn't scare her at all! She could take care of them on her own, she was a tough girl. And just in case she got outnumbered, there was no shame in fleeing a battle at all! But Rikku didn't think she would have to do something so lame. Plus, she'd be pretty embarrassed if anyone found out about her losing to a bunch of Cactuar. She'd jsut be a complete laughing stock! She COULDN'T let that happen. No way, Jose!
As the Al Bhed walked, she noticed something sort of...well weird. Some fire in the sky. She stared for a moment, unsure what to think of it. After starting for a moment, she snapped out of it and realized that it must have been some sort of signal. Somone must be in trouble! Gullwing to the rescue! Without another thought, Rikku started to run to where she had seen the fire in the sky. As she started to get closer, she saw something. First, she saw a bunch of Cactuar. And in the middle of it, she saw some guy. A guy with pretty cool hair! It was really red and spiky! She stared at it for a moment in admiration. She also didn't mind that this guy was pretty hot (Lawl XD), in a weird sort of way. There was no shame in checking out guys, right?
She ran up next to him, raising her pair of Daggers. "Need some help?" She said with a smile, before she attacked one of the Cactuar. Maybe today would be more fun that she thought!

"Took ya log enough." said the Flurry, grinning at the girl who had come to his side. "Not that I couldn't beat them myself. Why let me have all the fun?" With that, he threw one of his Chakrams at the cactus in front of him, watching it be cleaved in half. He then took his other one and held it vertically, making it spin with a pinwheel-like plume of fire. The other one returned to his hand and did the same, creating a fire tornado of sorts on both sides. A few of the creatures were toasted alive, and some suffered burns.
It was then when Axel decided to go into stage 2 of his battle plan. He crouched, waiting for one of the creatures to attack. As soon as he saw one move, he jumped, backflipping and narrowly missing the needles that had been fired at him. He then held his Chakrams under him and landed in a roll, his Chakrams once again engulfed in fire. As he spun, they spun as well, and he let them go. They travelled a good 10 feet ahead of him, eliminating a good 25 cacti. He looked at the girl and smiled again, saying "You're up."
