Weapons/Abilities:
Gunblade Expert: Due to intense and long training since he was a child, Squall has become an expert on the notoriously difficult to use weapon known as the Gunblade. As for his supposed equals in this area, there is only believed to be one: Seifer Almasy.
Squall's special skill with the gunblade is known as the Renzokuken, which allows him to increase the cutting force and speed of the gunblade by properly utilizing the trigger on the hilt. This also opens up several special skills (Rough divide, Fated Circle and Blasting Zone) for him to use.
General Magic User: While not his specialty, Squall is familiar with mid-level black magic and white magic.
Strength, speed and agility: Overall, Squall's physical abilities seem to be quite good, enabling him to jump higher (and land from higher heights). As of late, however, his overall abilities are slowly but steadily increasing.
The reason why, however, remains unknown to everyone but squall...

A powerful and mysterious entity, Griever was originally a guardian force (summon) belonging to the powerful time sorceress, Ultimecia. Upon her death, this guardian force was thought to have been eliminated. Somehow, however, the Seed mercenary legend Squall has managed to obtain it.
Though how he did is a mystery, and what the cost of having such a powerful guardian force an even greater one...

History: Squall's life, at first glance, might appear to have been one of great tragedy and misfortune. Born to a woman by the name of Raine Loire (who died giving birth to him) In the town of winhill, Squall was almost destined to be a child of misfortune. His adoptive father not present, Squall life was quickly turned around right from the beginning when he was sent to an orphanage far away from home (on an entirely different continent)
Raised on the orphanage run by a woman known as Edea Kramer, Squall became attached to a girl by the name of Ellone. Proving that life once again could be quite cruel, Ellone simply vanished one day when Squall was six, with no particular reason as to how or why. This in turn led Squall to a single conclusion that he would hold throughout most of his life:
That he was abandoned.
His personality not being an ideal one for adoption, Squall quickly saw the other children at the orphanage become adopted and move on. Eventually, it was decided he would be adopted by the private mercenary organization known as "Garden", who raised and trained him to be a SeeD gunblade master.
The young SeeD quickly distinguished himself as being very skilled (albeit cold) and graduated at the top of his class. It was almost immediately after his graduation that his life changed when he was sent out on his first mission.
And he met Rinoa Heartly.
At first, as the events of the world and the war against the sorceress Edea (and, eventually Ultimecia) unfolded, Squall and Rinoa did not have very much of a care for each other: Rinoa (presumably) seeing Squall as an uncaring brute and Squall seeing Rinoa as a careless, naive girl.
Yet somehow, as time passed, The two seemed to grow closer to each other. Eventually, this culminated into something greater when Squall saved Rinoa's life after she was left to die in space. It was reinforced when, after Ultimecia's defeat, Rinoa used the sorceress powers she hated so much to save Squall when he was trapped in time. It was clear to both of them (particularly at the SeeD celebration for the defeat of the sorceress of time) that they had grown together to become something so much more.
Arguably, it could be said that from that point on Rinoa is the only person who worked past Squall's issues and see him for what he really was: A troubled human being, perhaps looking for someone to give himself to.
needless to say, he found that in Rinoa.
Since the end of Ultimecia, Squall has functioned largely as a liason for SeeD to other worlds, acting as its most elite mercenary and a legend amongst his kind. His time having been eaten up more and more, it has come to the point where Squall has not seen Rinoa in over a year. (Due largely in part to being away from Garden)
Yet little does he realize his next assignment might not only place him back in the arms of the one he loves, but pit him up against forces he thought he had finally left behind him.
Likes: Rinoa (particularly seeing her again in the future) , his Griever pendant and ring (Rinoa has the ring), rules and order
Dislikes: Ultimecia, people who can't (or don't) follow the rules.
Fears: never seeing Rinoa again
